Commissioner Michael Busskohl read Resolution 2025‑26 to place Custer County Search & Rescue under the control and direction of the Custer County Sheriff's Office; the commission approved the resolution and Sheriff Mechaley thanked the board. The transfer moves Search & Rescue from Emergency Management to the Sheriff's Office for oversight.
