Board approves extension of Progreso ISD dual-language program into 5th grade
The board approved a local revision to extend the district's dual-language elementary program into 5th grade after staff said strong parent support (65 of about 98 incoming 5th-grade families) favored continuation.

Miss Garcia, the district's academic foundation director, recommended extending the dual-language program through 5th grade to allow current cohorts to complete elementary dual-language instruction. She said about 65 of roughly 98 families of incoming 5th graders signaled support. "Out of about 98 students that are coming into 5th grade, 65 of the parents gave approval," Garcia said.
