District staff presented an assessment of the old Progreso Elementary site (identified at 1015 Malone Drive), told trustees the site covers multiple buildings and said its estimated value is "a little bit more than $1,500,000." The presenter recommended exploring shared uses — a community library, a Boys & Girls Club and a regional evening high school for dropout-recovery and adult learners — and asked the board to authorize discussion with the City of Progreso and Region 1 to identify funding and partnership opportunities.
