Council discusses e-bike and e-scooter rules and enforcement challenges

Paul Naughton, Senior Project Manager, presented elements of the Mobility Master Plan related to trails and reviewed definitions and distinctions for e-bikes, e-scooters, SUPs and other motorized vehicles. Staff discussed potential amendments to park and path rules, including allowing e-scooters on shared-use paths and in parks, considering helmet requirements for children on e-bikes, and better signage about etiquette on shared-use paths.
