Board approves change order to extend SAP migration support through Dec. 2026

The Sedgwick County Board of Bids and Contracts on March 5 approved a change order to extend support from Abim Consulting Limited for the county's migration from SAP ECC 6.0 to SAP S4HANA and SAP Ariba Snap, moving the contract term to Dec. 31, 2026 and establishing additional time-and-materials costs at the rates presented to the board.

Joe Thomas, speaking on behalf of Enterprise Resource Planning, said the county’s original post‑go‑live support proved insufficient and supplemental consulting services are required. "Abim Consulting Limited is the consulting firm providing support services for the migration from the county's SAP ECC 6.0 version to SAP S4HANA private cloud edition and SAP Ariba snap," Thomas said. Board members asked whether earlier change order amounts covered the work; staff said the previous change order increased contract spend by $49,000 and the new extension continues from April 1 to Dec. 31, 2026 with hourly rates to cover anticipated support needs.

The motion to accept the change order was moved by Sarah (recorded mover) and carried on a roll call in which Tim Myers, Brandy Bailey, Philip DeBolt, Anna Meyerhoff Cole and Tanya Cole voted in the affirmative. The board did not specify a final total not-to-exceed amount in the recorded discussion; staff said the time-and-materials structure was required because exact support needs are not yet known.
