Harrison County staff say new time‑tracking system on track for Aug. 28 rollout

County staff briefed the Commissioners Court on plans to replace the county's timekeeping system and said the new platform is running in parallel with existing systems during a pilot period and remains on schedule to go live "as of right now on the 28th of August," a staff member said.

The presenter said employees can clock in at their desk, by phone or website, or by tapping a badge at kiosks placed on courthouse floors, and that Road & Bridge crews will use tablets and badge cards at field locations. Exempt employees were described as only required to record absences (PTO, sick, vacation) rather than daily clock‑ins. The staff member added the county has issued training videos for employees and that the pilot identified issues that staff are addressing before full rollout.

Commissioners and staff also discussed a longstanding policy that provides a small grace window for clocking in and out (described in the briefing as "7 minutes prior to...and 8 minutes after" the scheduled start) and confirmed elected officials are excluded from daily time tracking. No formal vote was required on the update; it was an informational presentation to the court.
