Councilman Gregory Vurckio reported that, after a pause, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has taken on the negotiation process related to a Water Withdrawal Permit and met with Catskill Watershed Corporation (CWC) and CWT leadership. Vurckio said Ric Coombe met with CWC Executive Director Jason Merwin and DEP deputies including Paul Rush, and that DEP Commissioner Rit Aggrawala indicated an intent to attend meetings in person to promote open conversation and answers.
