Warren County adopts SPLOST resolutions, approves intergovernmental agreement for 2027–2032 capital plan

The board adopted two resolutions and approved a 2027 intergovernmental agreement endorsing a proposed SPLOST allocation—40% water and sewer, 40% emergency services, 10% recreation and 10% economic development—for the 2027–2032 period and scheduled the measure for the November 3, 2026, ballot process discussion with municipalities.

Chairman John R. Graham told the board the county’s current special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST) runs through June 30, 2027, and the county and its municipalities have discussed putting a 2027–2032 SPLOST on the ballot. He read the proposed allocations: Economic Development 10%, Recreation 10%, Water and Sewer 40%, and Emergency Services 40%.
