Several residents used the Aug. 11 public‑comment period to press the council on code enforcement. Alex Stanley‑Dake read a prepared statement saying the town lacked the ability to enforce ordinances and describing long‑term neglect at a neighboring property that created public‑health and fire‑risk concerns. "Code enforcement isn't about being heavy‑handed. It's about protecting what we've all worked for," Stanley‑Dake said.
