Springtown council splits its 12 Parker County Appraisal District votes 6–6

The council considered and approved a resolution to allocate Springtown’s 12 votes for election to the Parker County Appraisal District Board of Directors for a one‑year term beginning Jan. 1, 2026. Staff explained the city can place all 12 votes on one candidate or split them among candidates. After brief discussion about continuity and recent county endorsements, council moved to split the votes evenly: 6 votes to Richard Barrett and 6 to Joe Wilkinson. "I make a motion that we split our votes evenly between, Richard Barrett and Joe Wilkinson," said Richardson; the motion carried unanimously 4–0.
