Willow Wind science teacher Emily Bland and sixth-grade students Elsie Chen and Tilden Andrews presented the Firewise elective, developed with support from the Southern Oregon Forest Restoration Collaborative to increase campus fire resilience. Students have been learning fire science, reducing ladder fuels, studying smoke impacts and insects, and conducting photo monitoring; Northwest Youth Corps support is scheduled for December.
