Community groups urge increased county support during FY2026 budget hearing
During the required public hearing on the proposed FY2026 operating budget, several nonprofits and youth organizations asked the board for increased county funding and matching support: Cleveland Community Center sought a larger annual allocation and a grant match, Abingdon Youth Football requested $20,000 for equipment and training, and Highlands Community Services warned that state match requirements threaten program funding.
