Port Wing accepts Xcel 'Solar Park Bench,' schedules Clean-Up Day and seeks AARP grant
Park Committee announced Clean-Up Day for June 6 (budget $5,000), the board accepted an in-kind 'Solar Park Bench' donation from Xcel Energy (board approved construction of a concrete pad), and an AARP grant application for town-hall acoustic upgrades was submitted with award notification expected in May.

Leann Hess, speaking for the Park Committee, said the town will hold Clean-Up Day on June 6 and allocated $5,000 for the effort. Hess also noted South Shore students have community-service projects and suggested they assist with trails and tree work at Twin Falls Park.
