Staff member (Speaker 1) described a new health-and-safety clause added to the policy packet addressing returned items infested with pests. Under the clause, patrons who return items contaminated by bed bugs, fleas, roaches or similar pests may be temporarily barred from borrowing or visiting the library until they provide proof that their residence has been treated and cleared by a licensed pest-control company.
