Selectboard seeks clearer sidewalk maintenance schedule and master plan

Selectboard member Jessica Teets told the Board she hears frequently from residents asking when sidewalks will be repaired and urged a clearer, more transparent maintenance schedule.

Teets asked for a performance-style report and a master-plan approach that favors completing continuous stretches rather than isolated panels. Public Works and staff reported an upcoming ride-along (measuring sidewalks with a wheel) and noted the Town has an existing Google map from a prior intern study to serve as a starting point. Members discussed repair methods (grinding raised panels, patch/ramp material) and coordination with upcoming water-line projects to avoid tearing up newly repaired sidewalks. Joel Bouvier and Public Works Foreman Eric Cota planned the ride-along for the coming Thursday to identify sections needing work.

Board members agreed that a public-facing schedule and clearer communication on timing would help residents understand when their sidewalks might be repaired or replaced.
