County briefed on $2,324 Hazardous Material Response Fund award
The county's emergency management coordinator said Clinton County will receive $2,324 for the Hazardous Material Response Fund in the upcoming July–June period and that funds must be used for hazmat-focused materials; the coordinator said the reduction from last year is manageable.

Scott Kemmer, Clinton County's emergency management coordinator, summarized two grant agreements and opened with the Hazardous Material Response Fund grant. He said the annual award for the 2026–27 period is $2,324, "which is down about $2,000 from last year's grant," and noted the funding is limited to hazmat-related materials and response expenses. "That grant, like I said, is $2,324," Kemmer said, and told commissioners the county can route funding from other local sources if needed because hazmat spending has been infrequent.
