Trappe withholds final payment until contractor corrects pumping station work

Council members raised concerns about the condition of recently completed pumping stations and directed staff to hold final payment until contractor corrections are completed.

Superintendent Shawn Lane said a walk‑through inspection was done by engineering firm GMB and that a list of corrections will be sent to the contractor. Administrator Erin Braband told the Council that "final payment will not be issued until the Town is satisfied with all the stations." The Council discussed screening options around stations; Lane noted trucks must maintain access and said plantings like trees or bushes would not be permitted in access areas but that alternate screening options could be explored.

The Council left final payment contingent on satisfactory completion of the punch list and asked staff to follow up on acceptable screening options that do not impede maintenance access.
