Council hears first reading on sewer lining contract after EPA-driven infiltration mandate

The council heard a first reading and public explanation of ordinance 32-2026, which would authorize the city manager to contract with Performance Pipelining Inc. for construction services under the 2026 sustainable sewer solutions project. A public works representative explained the project’s purpose: “The primary way that the infiltration happens is through cracks in the pipes,” and the proposed work lines sewer pipes, performs point repairs and relocates improperly tied roof drains.
