Work group recommends TEA-hosted video training; proposes 5-hour initial module
The parental-rights work group proposed a video-based trustee training hosted by TEA, recommending a five-hour inaugural module for all trustees next year and three-hour annual refreshers thereafter to meet statutory requirements.

Amber Pickering, who chaired the parental-rights work group, presented a draft trustee-training syllabus that covers 24 topic subheadings, from instructional materials and special education to grievances and mental-health services. The work group recommended producing a video hosted on the Texas Education Agency website so all trustees statewide can access consistent material and so parents can view the same content.
