Muncy Borough Council voted on April 15, 2026 to close the Carpenter Street bridge indefinitely after milling in preparation for paving uncovered major deterioration in a section of the deck. Officials said a review by Livic and PennDOT has taken place and that options and cost estimates for repair will be prepared for council consideration at a specially called meeting next week.
