The full story

The City of Oneida Planning Commission / Zoning Board of Appeals on Jan. 13 granted a Conditional Use Permit to allow continued use of an existing church building as a Buddhist temple at 1566 Middle Road (Tax Parcel 47-1-24). The approval allows limited on-site residence by monks as accessory to the religious use but is expressly limited to religious worship and customary accessory activities; the board conditioned the permit to prohibit any exterior alterations, site work, parking changes, or building expansion without separate review.
