Commissioners to review Community & Economic Development Strategic Plan; plan includes wastewater initiatives

Representatives from Community Solutions Innovators presented the final Community and Economic Development Strategic Plan and asked the Board to adopt it. Chantal Dugied thanked community participants and said the plan contains 17 initiatives, beginning with committee formation and funding identification; she asked that the plan change the "water" title to "Waste Water" for clarity.

Vice-Chair James Williams said commissioners receive limited opportunities to discuss the plan outside public meetings and that the plan prompted a flurry of public messages after the prior meeting. Mark Smith of CSI described the plan's structure and next steps of forming committees and seeking funding. Commissioner Barry Shullanberger said the plan would be on the agenda in two weeks for further discussion and possible action.

Commissioners also approved prior meeting minutes by motion at the same session. The plan's next step is a scheduled Board agenda item in approximately two weeks to allow commissioners and the public to review and pose questions before any formal adoption vote.
