Chamber director to retire; county strategic plan draft expected Feb. 3

At the Jan. 20 meeting, Mark Smith of Community Solutions Innovators told commissioners a draft of the county strategic plan will be presented at the Feb. 3 Work Session and that the plan’s steering committee would meet later that week. Smith also said Chamber of Commerce Director Shelley Batty has notified the Chamber board of her intent to retire effective May 31, 2026, and that the board is planning the director transition.
