City staff delivered the quarterly administrative and finance reports, saying the city's finances are "very strong." Staff reported first-quarter revenue at 26.65% and operating expenditures at 28.39%, noting that early‑year expenditures can temporarily exceed benchmarks; sales tax for the first quarter was up 3.95% compared with the same quarter last year. "Your sales tax for the 1st 0.25 of the fiscal year is up 3.95% over what it was the same 0.25 of the previous year," a city official said.
