Efficiency Vermont declines LED grant; board drops application for firehouse lighting

Board member Brian Cali reported Efficiency Vermont concluded the LED installation costs exceeded projected savings and declined funding; the board decided not to pursue that application and Brian will follow up with fire department staff about heat-pump application work.

At the Aug. 19 meeting the Reading Energy Board learned that Efficiency Vermont declined to fund the proposed LED lighting installation for the firehouse and town hall after determining the installation cost was too high compared with projected energy savings. Brian Cali said the application process required increasingly detailed information and that Efficiency Vermont ultimately decided the project did not meet cost-effectiveness thresholds, so the board chose not to continue the application.
