Emergency management asks board for direction on unused 400 kW generator

Brad (Speaker 12), Adams County emergency management/fire coordinator, reported the county has a 400 kW generator acquired via a mitigation grant that previously served Parkway Baptist Church as a shelter. He said the church no longer wants to host a shelter and the generator is parked and unused; ongoing maintenance and exercise needs are imposing costs. "We have in possession, a lot of generators that we purchased, through mitigation grama. The 1 in particular, we have a 400 k w generator," he said.

Board members asked whether the county would advertise the generator for sale, transfer it to another entity (including other counties), or place it in a permanent building where it could be exercised and maintained. Staff said proceeds from any sale would return to the emergency fund; board asked staff to check grant terms and report back with recommended disposition options.
