Covington County chooses 85/15 Forest Service payment split; roads and schools share 85%

County Administrator Karen L. Sowell presented the annual Forest Service payment-election options and recommended the longstanding 85/15 split. Under that option, 85% of the payment is distributed to roads and schools (Sowell stated that share is split 50/50 between those purposes) and the remaining 15% goes to the county general fund.
