Commission issues negative determination for collapsed deck replacement on Spring Valley Road
The commission ruled the proposed deck replacement on Spring Valley Road requires no permit under the commission's jurisdiction after staff confirmed the new deck will match the existing footprint and the project is just over 30 feet from a wetland.

Neil Hassett, representing Hassett Builders, told commissioners the existing deck collapsed and that he would replace it "in the same exact footprint" using pressure-treated framing and new footings. "It's the existing deck that has collapsed," Hassett said, explaining why the work is repair rather than enlargement.
