CMH asks for handicap-accessible transit van; Properties Committee recommends purchase up to $90,000
The Properties Committee recommended the Full Board authorize CMH to buy one transit van with a lift at a cost not to exceed $90,000, at no additional cost to the County General Fund, after staff explained the vehicle better meets program participants' needs.

Brooke Sankiewicz, CEO of CMH, told the Properties Committee the agency needs a transit-style vehicle rather than a Pacifica because some program participants require extra space and height to assist with seatbelts and other mobility needs. "The request for a transit vehicle instead of a pacifica is due to the persons served in the programming," Sankiewicz said.
