Council promotes two utility workers to Level IV foreman positions
The council approved promotions for Branden Voelkel to Water Department Level IV (Foreman) and Jamie Klein to Wastewater Department Level IV (Foreman), both effective May 1, 2026, with annual salaries of $72,031.68. City Administrator Martin Shanahan described the promoted employees' initiative and operational roles.

The Plano City Council unanimously approved promotions for two utility employees at its Aug. 10 meeting. Alderman Mark Swoboda moved and Alderman Barb Nadeau seconded both promotions; each was recorded with seven 'Aye' votes and one absence (Alderman Kathy Wickens).
