Residents urge supervisors to keep data‑center moratorium in place
Multiple residents told the board they oppose lifting the county moratorium on data centers, citing concerns about energy and water use, noise, low local job creation and privacy risks associated with AI and data companies. The board did not vote on policy changes during the work session.

During the public‑comment period, Jean Eulanger (speaker 15) addressed the board and urged continuation of the county’s moratorium on data‑center development. Eulanger said the facilities consume large amounts of energy and water, risk raising utility prices for residents and may not deliver promised local jobs.
