Neighboring resident raises concerns about paused "Project Tomahawk" data center

Katie Murray, a resident of Little Elm, used the public comment period on Aug. 25 to raise concerns about a proposed data center referred to as Project Tomahawk, which she said White Rose (the firm referenced) plans to site near multiple neighborhoods across the street from Union Park.

Murray said the project is currently paused and off the Planning & Zoning agenda in Prosper, but she urged awareness and cross‑jurisdictional collaboration because neighboring communities may experience noise, diesel generator emissions, and additional power and water demand. "The typical concerns in this kind of a situation [are] quality of life, the sound pollution, air quality, given diesel generators, issues like that, the power usage and water usage," she said, and said she planned to attend future planning hearings and continue researching the project.

Council members responded that the council had not yet seen a formal submittal for Prosper and advised Murray to raise the issue with Planning & Zoning when it is scheduled. Murray asked residents of Prosper and nearby towns for collaboration to protect utilities and quality of life.
