Committee hears Greenway progress on stormwater study, GIS mapping planned

The chair of the infrastructure committee said Greenway engineers have completed fieldwork and provided an updated map as part of a multi‑year stormwater study. "But this we've already identified, like, all of the inlets," the Chair said, noting consultants are assembling data into GIS shapefiles the city will house in its records.

Committee members said the firm could not observe some hydraulic behaviors because of limited rain events but is compiling photographic documentation and other monitoring data. The Chair said a formal report and a council presentation are likely in January–February, and members urged aligning any recommended capital work with the upcoming fiscal‑year budget.

Members discussed that recommendations may include zoning and subdivision ordinance revisions to address recurring drainage problems that cross city and county boundaries. The committee agreed staff should continue coordinating with public works crews to clear debris in problem boxes and prepare for the consultant's recommendations.
