Police report five firearms confiscated; department notes TCOLE radio requirement
The Calvert Police Department reported confiscating five firearms on Aug. 5 and returning four stolen weapons to a burglary victim. The chief also warned that by Sept. 1, law-enforcement agencies must have compliant field radios to meet TCOLE standards.

At the Aug. 11 meeting the Calvert Police Department provided its monthly report noting 46 calls for service in the last month (down from 53), fuel consumption of 1,093.07 gallons (previous month 1,852.06), and zero arrests. "Calls for Service: 46 this month, 53 last month," the chief reported to the council.
