Planning staff presented a draft set of land-use categories and implementation steps at the Lake County Planning Commission work session on Aug. 10, 2026, aimed at updating how lodging and event uses are allowed in sensitive backcountry areas. Anne Schneider, director of county planning staff, said the draft reflects peer codes and stakeholder input and is currently under review by the county attorney.
