Developer says independent financing model, contracts make Alaska LNG economically viable

Bridal Duvall, introduced as CEO of Glenfarn, told the conference Glenfarn will pursue an independent project‑finance model that breaks Alaska LNG into financeable components so each phase can reach its own FID.

"We've got a capability to take older assets and rebuild them and turn them around," Duvall said, citing the company's Texas projects and recent $40,000,000,000 in contracts for Texas work. He added the company plans a roughly $5,000,000,000 debt and equity issuance later this year to support its Gulf Coast operations and to demonstrate financing capacity for Alaska.

Duvall argued that independent sponsors bring discipline: rating agencies, bondholders and banks scrutinize project numbers and contingencies before capital is drawn. He said updated unit rates and existing engineering reduce uncertainty and allow the team to price contingencies into pipeline and liquefaction budgets.

Conference remarks included several numeric claims about build costs, contract sizes and loan guarantees; these were presented as developer estimates and were not independently verified during the session.
