Committee amends student assignment policy to prioritize sibling placement
The School Committee unanimously amended Policy JCA to allow students with siblings already enrolled in a K–8 Malden Public School to choose placement with that sibling if enrolled before July 1, expanding sibling preference in assignments.

The Malden School Committee voted unanimously on June 9 to amend Policy JCA so that students who have siblings already enrolled in any K–8 Malden Public School may choose placement with their sibling or be placed in their designated attendance area if enrolled prior to July 1 of the upcoming year.
