District expands student-worker program; 15 students aided custodial and maintenance work

The director of operations said the district expanded a summer student-worker program to 15 students who assisted custodial and maintenance teams with painting, landscaping, floor care and furniture moves to prepare schools for the new year.

District operations staff told the board the student-worker program that supports custodial and maintenance teams was expanded this year. The director said 15 students assisted under student leads and maintenance/custodial supervisors, carrying out tasks such as painting hallways at S.P. Morton and J.P. King, grass cutting and landscaping, floor stripping and waxing, pressure washing exterior walls and moving furniture.
