Coppell ISD outlines New Tech move into CHS, plans for CTE and aviation programs

District leaders presented a multi-stage transition plan to move New Tech into Coppell High School, with staffing, culture and communications teams working since the summer. Staff said course guides have been published and that they expect many decisions on staffing and course offerings to be finalized by March as enrollment commitment letters are collected.

Renderings and construction sequencing were shown for D Hall (new collaborative media spaces and science labs) and the CTE center; staff said in‑building construction will be staged to minimize disruption during spring testing and that full renovations are planned for summer 2026. The presentation included possible crossover courses with CHS and noted constraints on elective offerings (foreign languages beyond ASL limited by staffing/capacity). Trustees asked for regular updates and specific monitoring points to ensure the New Tech model and culture are preserved through the transition.

Officials also described recruitment and marketing efforts, planned advisory partnerships for drone and aviation programs, and the district’s plan to provide periodic progress reports to the board.
