Board approves one-year extension for district audit contract to allow RFP process
Trustees voted to extend the district's auditing contract with Mauldin and Jenkins for one year so staff can prepare and run an RFP for 2027–28 auditing services; staff said the extension gives time to complete ARPA reporting and a competitive procurement.

Finance presenter reviewed the district's recent audit engagement history and said the auditing firm offered one- and three-year extension options; staff asked the board to approve a one-year extension so the district's audit team has time to develop and issue a request for proposals (RFP) for FY2027–28 services. "If you all approve this extension, then the audit team will build you a RFP," the presenter said.
