Covington council moves to executive session citing Texas Government Code sections
The council adjourned into executive session at 6:50 p.m. citing Texas Government Code §§551.071, 551.072, 551.073, 551.074, 551.076 and 551.087; the public minutes do not record the content of the closed deliberations. The council reconvened and adjourned at 6:55 p.m.

The Covington City Council recessed to executive session at 6:50 p.m. on June 23. The minutes state the council reserved the right to discuss any listed matters as authorized by Texas Government Code §551.071 (consultation with attorney), §551.072 (deliberations about real property), §551.073 (deliberations about gifts and donations), §551.074 (personnel matters), §551.076 (deliberations about security devices) and §551.087 (economic development). The motion to adjourn to executive session was made by Councilmember James Davis, seconded by Councilmember April Bradshaw and recorded as carried 4–0.
