The Mount Vernon Board of Aldermen authorized a contract with Frantz Water Solutions to operate the city's wastewater treatment facility after opening bids on Nov. 20, 2024. Frantz submitted a bid of $360,000 for a three‑year contract with an option for a two‑year renewal; Alliance Water Resources withdrew its proposal citing scope concerns and no other firm submitted a responsive bid. City Administrator Joe Kelley recommended the award to Frantz, and the Board approved the ordinance later in the meeting.
