The New Cumberland Borough Council held a public hearing on May 14 on proposed amendments to Zoning Ordinance 7‑27 that would add new uses — including data center facilities, recovery homes and vehicle body repair — and restrict recovery homes to a mixed‑use district. Solicitor Mike Cassidy explained the hearing's purpose: “the purpose of tonight's meeting, under section 609 is to provide the public an opportunity to offer a comment with respect to the proposed amendments to the zoning ordinance,” and council framed the session as an opportunity for clarification rather than final action.
