The Town Board adopted a document retention policy on July 14 by approving Resolution #16 of 2026, adopting the Retention and Disposition Schedule for New York Local Government Records (LGS-1). The resolution directs town officers to use LGS-1 when disposing of valueless records and specifies that records will only be disposed of after meeting the legal minimum retention periods or if they lack sufficient administrative, fiscal, legal or historical value.
