During public comment, Lisa Hedeen, a noncontract district employee, urged the board to reconsider the placement and language of policy 505, saying it reads like an employee/procedural rule rather than a student policy and risks chilling classroom materials. "This policy works against that point," Hedeen said, referring to student groups (LGBT and BIPOC students) who reported they do not feel fully integrated in the district culture.
