County moves forward on server-room fire suppression, chiller and cooling-tower replacements

Supervisors authorized bids for a hybrid fire-extinguishing system for server rooms, and approved agreements to replace a courthouse chiller and the administration building cooling tower (estimated cost about $261,000 for the cooling tower).

The board approved several facilities actions to protect county infrastructure and reduce failure risk. Public Works Director Doug Kaufman asked the county to authorize bids and contracts for a hybrid fire-extinguishing system for three server rooms, replace the courthouse chiller and replace the county administration building's cooling tower.
