Residents point out error, offer free-tree partnership during Dundee comprehensive plan hearing

The Village of Dundee opened a public hearing on the Comprehensive Plan at 6:35 p.m. on Sept. 23, 2025, where residents raised edits and partnership ideas for the plan. Fran Willis told the board that the name of the "Dundee Bloomers" was listed incorrectly in the document and proposed that the Village connect with a forester, through Paul Paradine, to obtain free trees and a planting plan; Willis said the Dundee Bloomers are currently receiving four trees for the bump-outs. Willis also said she and Caryl Sutterby serve as Climate Smart Stewards for the Village of Dundee.

Trustee Judy Duquette pressed why the plan highlighted certain privately owned buildings as having “strong potential,” and committee members responded that the Comprehensive Plan is intended to reflect opportunities across the whole community, not only Village-owned properties. Caitlyn Cornish suggested adding a reference to Peter Baker’s LLC creation services in the plan’s benchmarks section. The steering committee urged the board to reference the plan regularly and to review benchmarks consistently to keep Village decisions aligned with the plan’s goals.
