Council hears Fir Street drain concern, sets Clean Up Day and gets utility staffing update

Resident Kristi Sittner raised a drain concern on Fir Street; City Engineer Brian Schuele indicated it would be an inlet repair and will include cost estimates in later street plans. Council set Clean Up Day for April 25, 2026 and learned Public Works hired Ricky Skillett; utility tests were approved and turkey vulture removal options were discussed with an estimated cost of $300.

Resident Kristi Sittner reported concerns about a drain on Fir Street between Monroe and Madison Streets. City Engineer Brian Schuele and Utility Superintendent Zach Fergus had inspected the site before the meeting; Schuele said repairing the inlet would be similar to a recent repair near the city office and that he will include an estimated cost with the street plans later in the year.
