Rob Dobson, representing Platt & Platt (VanTrust-related parcel), asked the county to consent to an annexation that would bring about 82 acres into Cedar City despite the property being separated from current city boundaries. County staff and commissioners raised issues about sewer service, lift stations, maintenance of Iron Springs Road, and whether intervening landowners would consent—creating a potential 'island' of annexed land.
