NextLINK representatives presented a county-wide backbone build. After residents raised concerns about trenching under large oaks, the court added language requiring protection and replacement of trees along right-of-way permits and approved individual permits for several county roads.

NextLINK presented a project to build a fiber backbone and fiber-to-the-home connections. Hector Lisonbee, senior construction manager for NextLINK, explained routing and burial depths; residents raised concerns about burial near large oak trees and the potential for damage if buried in hot weather. Lisonbee said burial depths would typically be 24 to 36 inches and that the company would provide insurance and reimburse the county for damage to county property.
